Running a business – especially a small business – is about more than profit and loss. It’s about contributing to the health of the community and being a good neighbor. That’s why I make giving back an integral part of my business practice.
My philosophy is to give generously and consistently to the community I serve and to which I owe so much of my success – in business and in life.
I’m proud to be aligned with a firm that gives back. Since its founding in 1937, Waddell & Reed has consistently been a strong supporter of community, cultural and charitable causes regionally and nationally.
It provides a platform for two types of philanthropic and charitable support: direct from the company and directly from financial advisors and employees.
In fact, employees and financial advisors are encouraged to select philanthropic organizations and events in which their involvement will have an ongoing and meaningful impact.
The YWCA is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. I support them as a member of their Professional Advisory Council and as co-chair of the Young Women's Forum Committee, as well as helping plan and attend multiple events throughout the year.
Feeding Matters is furthering advances in pediatric feeding disorders by accelerating identification, igniting research, and promoting collaborative care for children and families. As a mother of a child with a pediatric feeding disorder, I connect with them on a personal level and I support them through donations and attending charity events.
